A verse: Lost and found

Another day of cleaning gave me a sly sheet of paper slipping out of my notebook. In the bottom right corner of the sheet I found this:

As unfortunate as it may seem,
As unfortunate as it may be.
I think of days of yester,
Of days with you and me.

  1. Isn't it better to be last for ever, than be found back, when they are as unfortunate as they may??..I wud prefer them lost, than be unfortunate!

Your last few posts soud melancholic and depressing (if I may say).

  3. Liked this one. But I am wondering the last line should be: "As days with you and me?"

  4. Dear Krish,
At some times things are better lost than recalled... I agree. But I am glad that I found the sheet of paper!! :-D It had other important info which I was looking for a long time! And tis verse, I don't even remember when and why I wrote it (as if there has been a why to everything I write? ;-)

    Dear Madhu,
In the dumps? Me? :-o Not yet!! :-D My posts keep vacillating between all kinds of things...

    Dear Meera,
Why do you think it should be "As days with..."? You think "of" something, right? And you think "of" something "as" something (else), right? "As" wasn't meant here... Glad you liked it! :-)

  6. I suppose if "as" is used, it would mean that "days of yester" acquired meaning only because of "you and me"...

  7. Dear Misha,
Thank you! Glad you liked it.

    Dear Meera,
    True. :-)

I see what both of you are saying. Actually after I read Misha's comment I had a relook at the verse and, you are right Meera, "As" would fit in nicely to give a nice picture too. Since I have no clue why/when/where I wrote that stuff I don't know what to do with it! :-)
